PRODUCT PURPOSE & INTENDED USE

Nurtura products are designed for comfort, connection, guided interaction, sensory support settings, educational environments, imaginative engagement, collecting, and display.

Many customers also incorporate Nurtura products into aged care, disability support, emotional wellbeing, classroom, parenting, community, and professional support environments.

While customers may choose to use Nurtura products within these settings, individual experiences and outcomes will naturally vary.

Products sold by The Nurtura Co are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent medical, psychological, or behavioural conditions unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Purchasers and organisations remain responsible for determining whether a product is appropriate for their intended environment, participant needs, supervision requirements, and individual circumstances.

PRODUCT BOUNDARIES & SUPERVISION

Nurtura products are designed for gentle, guided, and supervised interaction.

They are not designed for:

  • Rough play
  • Throwing, pulling, twisting, or impact activities
  • Climbing or carrying by limbs
  • Teething or chewing
  • Use as infant sleep aids
  • Unsupervised use by young children
  • Use by vulnerable individuals without appropriate supervision where required

Due to the realistic weight, softness, and flexibility of silicone materials, reasonable care should always be taken during handling, transport, repositioning, and storage.

The realistic presentation of Nurtura Babies may also attract emotional reactions or public attention. Customers are responsible for ensuring respectful, safe, and appropriate use in public or shared environments.

Many customers choose Nurtura products for:

  • Dementia and aged care environments
  • Disability support settings
  • Emotional regulation activities
  • Classroom or educational use
  • Birth education and parenting support
  • Community programs and guided interaction

However, Nurtura products are not substitutes for professional medical, psychological, behavioural, therapeutic, or clinical care.

Any use involving:

  • Children
  • Elderly individuals
  • People living with disability
  • Individuals experiencing cognitive impairment
  • Emotional support environments

should always involve appropriate supervision, professional judgement, and risk assessment where required.

Purchasers and organisations remain responsible for determining whether a product is appropriate for their intended environment or participant needs.

PRODUCT MATERIALS & HANDCRAFTED FEATURES

Nurtura Babies are handcrafted silicone products featuring realistic artistic detailing.

Features may include:

  • Hand-painted detailing and veining
  • Blushing and skin texture variation
  • Rooted eyelashes
  • Painted eyebrows
  • Soft flexible silicone
  • Anatomically realistic body sculpting
  • Individually assembled presentation accessories

Minor variations, asymmetry, air bubbles, texture differences, paint variation, and small artistic inconsistencies are normal characteristics of handcrafted silicone products and do not constitute faults.

Due to the handmade nature of these products, each Nurtura Baby may differ slightly in appearance, finish, softness, colouring, or presentation.

HANDLING, STORAGE & GENERAL CARE

To help preserve the condition and longevity of your Nurtura Baby:

  • Handle gently and support the head and limbs appropriately
  • Avoid excessive pulling, stretching, twisting, or pressure
  • Avoid sharp objects, abrasive surfaces, or rough handling
  • Keep away from open flames and excessive heat
  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight or high temperatures
  • Store in a cool, dry environment
  • Avoid prolonged contact with dark fabrics, denim, inks, or heavily dyed materials, as colour transfer may occur
  • Use only gentle cleaning methods and soft materials when cleaning

Wear may naturally occur over time through handling, friction, movement, clothing contact, storage, transportation, environmental exposure, and general use.

WATER, LIQUIDS & BATHING

Some Nurtura Babies may support supervised water interaction, bathing, or bottle-feeding simulation.

However:

  • Water interaction should always occur under adult supervision
  • Electronic accessories must always be removed before water exposure
  • Internal moisture exposure may damage components or materials
  • Improper use of liquids may result in mould, deterioration, or product damage

Nurtura Babies must never be used:

  • As flotation devices
  • In pools or open water
  • As bath toys for unsupervised children
  • With excessively hot water
  • In dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, or sterilisers

Always allow products to dry fully after any water interaction.

ELECTRONIC ACCESSORIES & BLUETOOTH SPEAKER

Some Nurtura products include a removable miniature Bluetooth speaker intended to support immersive audio experiences and guided interaction.

The Bluetooth speaker is a separate electronic accessory and is not designed for unsupervised handling by young children.

Customers must:

  • Follow all charging, handling, battery, and safety instructions supplied with the speaker
  • Keep electronic components away from water, moisture, and excessive heat
  • Inspect the speaker regularly for signs of damage or wear
  • Discontinue use immediately if the speaker becomes damaged, overheated, swollen, exposed internally, or no longer functions correctly

The speaker should always be removed before:

  • Bathing or water play
  • Cleaning
  • Storage in damp environments
  • Washing fabrics or accessories
  • Any activity involving liquids

Please refer to the speaker manufacturer’s own instruction manual, warnings, and safety information before use.

The Nurtura Co does not manufacture the Bluetooth speaker component itself and is not responsible for misuse, modification, incorrect charging practices, battery failure, or failure to follow the manufacturer’s safety guidance.

Audio content provided by The Nurtura Co is intended for personal use only and may not be redistributed, reproduced, copied, or commercially shared without permission.

PRODUCT DAMAGE & DISCONTINUED USE

Customers should regularly inspect products and accessories for signs of wear or damage.

Discontinue use immediately if:

  • Components become loose or detached
  • Silicone tears or splits
  • Electronic accessories become damaged
  • Internal materials become exposed
  • Accessories break or crack
  • Any component presents a potential safety concern

Damaged products should be kept away from children and vulnerable individuals until assessed, repaired, or disposed of appropriately.

REALISTIC APPEARANCE DISCLAIMER

Nurtura Babies are intentionally designed to appear highly realistic in weight, texture, presentation, and visual appearance.

As a result:

  • Members of the public may initially mistake the dolls for real infants
  • Public reactions or emotional responses may occur
  • Customers should use discretion when transporting or displaying products in public settings

The Nurtura Co is not responsible for reactions, misunderstandings, or assumptions made by third parties regarding the realistic appearance of the products.

COLOUR, SCREEN & PRESENTATION DISCLAIMER

Product photography, lighting, editing, screen settings, and handcrafted finishing processes may result in slight differences between photographed products and received products.

Skin tones, texture appearance, veining, softness, shading, and accessory presentation may vary slightly between batches and individual dolls.

Accessories, fabrics, blankets, props, and styling items used in photography may occasionally differ depending on stock availability and presentation updates.

Organisations purchasing Nurtura products remain responsible for:

  • Conducting their own risk assessments
  • Determining suitability for participants or environments
  • Providing supervision where appropriate
  • Implementing their own workplace, clinical, educational, or safety procedures

  • Supervision responsibilities remain with the purchaser, caregiver, organisation, or supervising adult
  • The Nurtura Co is not liable for misuse, neglect, improper handling, modification, unauthorised alteration, inappropriate storage, failure to follow safety guidance, or use outside intended product boundaries
