Nurtura

Comfort, connection and discovery

We want The Nurtura Co website and digital experience to be welcoming and usable for as many people as possible, including people with disability, neurodivergent people, older people, carers, educators and people using assistive technologies.

Effective date: 28 May 2026  ·  Last updated: 5 September 2026

Accessibility is not a finished feature. It is an ongoing part of how we design, write, review and improve.

Our accessibility approach

Clear information, flexible use and practical help when a barrier gets in the way.

Clear content

We aim for readable language, logical headings, meaningful links and uncluttered page layouts.

Flexible display

Our pages are designed to adapt across common screen sizes and support browser zoom and text resizing.

Navigable structure

We work towards consistent navigation, keyboard access and compatibility with assistive technologies.

Help available

If something is difficult to access, we can help locate information or provide a reasonable alternative format or pathway.

What we work towards in practice

As our website changes, we aim to consider accessibility during content, design and development—not only after a page has been published. Our current priorities include:

  • using plain, respectful and easy-to-understand language where possible;
  • maintaining readable typography, spacing and colour contrast;
  • using headings in a meaningful order so page content is easier to scan and navigate;
  • making links and buttons descriptive and recognisable;
  • supporting keyboard navigation and visible keyboard focus;
  • adding useful alternative text to informative images while leaving decorative images out of the reading flow;
  • building responsive pages that reflow across common screen sizes and orientations;
  • avoiding unnecessary flashing, automatic movement and visually overwhelming layouts; and
  • reviewing forms, documents and customer pathways as the website evolves.

Access needs are individual

No single feature or format works for everyone. If the standard version of something is not suitable for you, please contact us. You do not need to disclose a disability to ask for help or an alternative way to access information.

Standards guiding our work

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as an important reference for accessible web content. WCAG organises accessibility around four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.

Our direction is to work towards the relevant Level AA success criteria in the current WCAG 2.2 standard as the Nurtura website is reviewed and improved.

An honest statement—not a certification

This statement does not claim that every page, feature, file or third-party service currently conforms fully to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Formal conformance should only be stated after the relevant content has been evaluated against all applicable success criteria.

Ongoing review and known limitations

The website is continually evolving, and some barriers may remain. Older content or documents may not yet have the same structure or accessibility treatment as newly rebuilt pages. Images may occasionally need improved alternative text, and updates to themes, plugins or integrations can also affect accessibility.

We intend to address issues as they are identified, giving particular attention to barriers that prevent someone from finding information, contacting us, understanding a product or completing an important customer task.

Third-party tools and content

Some parts of the customer journey rely on services operated by other providers. These may include payment gateways, checkout functions, booking systems, social media platforms, maps, video or audio players, embedded tools and instant chat.

We do not control every aspect of those services, and their accessibility may vary by platform, device and update. We will not use that limitation as a reason to ignore a barrier. If a third-party tool prevents you from accessing information or completing a task, please tell us so we can explore a reasonable alternative pathway and raise the issue with the provider where appropriate.

Feedback, assistance and alternative access

If you experience difficulty accessing any part of our website, content, forms or services, we genuinely want to know. We welcome feedback from people with lived experience and will do our best to assist or provide the information in another reasonable format.

When contacting us, it can help to include:

  • the page, feature, document or information you were trying to access;
  • what happened or what made access difficult;
  • the format or type of assistance that would work better for you; and
  • your device, browser or assistive technology, if you are comfortable sharing it.

You are welcome to provide only the information you feel comfortable sharing. We will use accessibility feedback to assist you and to help identify improvements for other visitors.

Our continuing commitment

Accessibility requires attention, listening and ongoing improvement. As The Nurtura Co grows, we will continue reviewing our content and customer pathways, learning from recognised guidance and responding to feedback with care.
